Our History

Alliance Key Biscayne Jiu-Jitsu is a part of The Alliance Association. The Alliance Team is a community of world champions founded in 1993 by Master Romero Cavalcanti, Fabio Gurgel, and Alexandre Paiva. The growth of the alliance was quick and now stands with over 300 international affiliates. These schools work together to spread their famous methodology of top-quality learning and qualified instructors. Alliance Key Biscayne Jiu-Jitsu plays our part by opening our doors to all students in order to positively change their lives.

Lucas Araujo trained at Alliance Key Biscayne Jiu-Jitsu for about five years before stepping into an ownership role alongside Pedro Vianna in April 2023. The pair originates from Brazil and are eager to share the gift of Jiu-Jitsu in America. Their passion runs deep because they began their Jiu-Jitsu journey as early as 12 years old, and continue to pass their knowledge on to today’s generation. Lucas and Pedro are incredibly proud to improve the lives of many children, teenagers, and adults in Key Biscayne, Florida through teaching Jiu-Jitsu.

Lucas Araujo

Owner

Lucas Araujo Gomes, a renowned martial artist, has made significant contributions to the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He was recognized as the Martial Artist of the Year by the United Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Honoring him for his exceptional competitive performance during the previous season. Currently, he holds the prestigious title of the #1 ranked IBJJF black belt in his division. Establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in the martial arts world.

Initiating his martial arts journey at the tender age of 10, Gomes showcased deep passion and dedication for the sport. Under the tutelage of Master Alexandre Paiva, he tirelessly honed his skills and ultimately achieved the esteemed rank of BJJ Black Belt. His unwavering commitment to his craft propelled him to numerous victories in both national and international tournaments. Including the Pan Am, Mixed Jiu-Jitsu Gi, and No-Gi competitions.

Great gym. I was visiting from NYC and was looking for a gym to train in. Alliance was super friendly from start to finish. Training with Luke and Desiree was informative and fun. Loved the intimate classes and the other students were also friendly and fun to roll with. Highly recommend it.
